MOOREFIELD RACECOURSE DOCUMENTARY UPDATE – NOVEMBER 28 2018

Filming and editing is almost completed. Music is currently being added to the video.

Producing this video has been a labour of love for Bob and I. We have spent hundreds of hours filming, interviewing and editing. I became very used to the command “action “.

The oldest person I interviewed was 92. He had an impeccable memory.  One gentleman clearly remembered F.W.Hughes’ racing colours along with his second set of colours . His memory recall was excellent for a man in his late 80’s.

The story of the swamp ‘s activities,  the noise and the  colour of race day , the tough life of early jockeys , Sir Frank Packer’s horses, the lady who rode track work under the radar at  age 17, the widows of two  Moorefield jockeys, the riding career in Ceylon of one Moorefield jockey  are among some of the many wonderful stories.

These stories have been told before they are lost, and I am honoured to have had the opportunity to do this. Photos are included.

Video release to be  in early 2019. Details on my web site annefield.net.au in Moorefield Category.
