The Diary of an Adventurous Australian Overseas Traveller
Read about Annes’ adventures on her first overseas trip in 1974-1975, and her latest overseas trip in 2013.
Anne travelled widely, met lots of interesting people, and enjoyed all of her travelling experiences. She left Australia, as an inexperienced 20 year old traveller, and returned home much more knowledgeable and experienced, knowing that she would undertake more travel in the future.
Now, she is taking the opportunity to share with you, her first trip, from forty years ago to Britain, Europe and Scandinavia, along with her more recent trip to the United Kingdom and Hong Kong.
Whilst Anne typically was a young Australian, who set out to see other countries, her diary shows her ability to pack so much into her travels. Her 2013 adventure highlights the fact that she has not lost this attribute.
Anne’s grannie immigrated from Glasgow, Scotland in 1912. She was delighted to meet with her Scottish relatives and to visit places associated with her grannie. She also met her penfriends in Scotland and Finland in 1975 for the first time.
When you read her diaries, you will feel that Anne has brought her travels alive, and that you are in fact travelling with her. You will wonder at her stamina, and her ability to connect with the people she meets along the way.
